Switching excitation methods

3.16.5
Four filter cubes can be inserted into the Epi-fl
attachment. Move the desired cube into the optical
path by turning the filter cube switching knob on
the right side of the attachment.
For bright-field observations, leave one cube
position empty, and move this empty position into
the optical path.
Use the fluorescent motion restricting lever located
at the upper front section to limit cube switching
operations.

Inserting and removing the filter cubes

WARNING
Always turn off the mercury lamp
before inserting or removing the filter
cubes.
(1) Remove the cover on the left-hand side of the
Epi-fl attachment.
(2) Insert the filter cubes.
(3) Replace the cover.
(Refer to P.67 for details.)

Free (switching possible)
Switching between positions 1 and 2, or between positions 3 and 4.
(The position at which the lever is pulled determines whether
switching is for positions 1 and 2 or positions 3 and 4.)
