Troubleshooting
If the product does not function properly, take appropriate action as described below. If the
problem is still not resolved after referring to "Troubleshooting," please contact your nearest Nikon
representative

Problem
Field of view vignetts.
Illumination is uneven
across the field of view.
Field of view is not
visible.
Dirt or dust is present in
the field of view.
Image quality is poor.
Contrast is poor.
Resolution is poor.
Focus is uneven.
Image flows.
Image is tinged yellow.
Field of view is too
bright.
Possible causes
Parts are attached incorrectly.
Movable parts are not switched
correctly.
Field diaphragm image is not focused
on the specimen surface.
Field diaphragm is stopped down too
far.
Dirt or dust is present on the lens or
container.
Dirt or dust is present on the lens or

Field diaphragm image is not focused
on the specimen surface.

Objective correction ring does not
match the thickness of the

Remedy
Confirm that parts (nosepiece, condenser,
etc.) are correctly attached.
Move parts (e.g., optical path switching
lever, nosepiece, filter cube switching
knob) until a click is felt.
Focus and center the condenser.
Open the field diaphragm slightly wider
than the field of view.
Clean off the dirt, and use a clean
container.

Adjust the correction ring.
