SEATS AND SEAT BELTS
WARNING
Make sure that you and your passengers, including
pregnant women, wear safety belts. Be sure that lap
belts fit snugly and as low as possible around the
hips. If safety belts are not used properly, the risk of
you or your passengers
b~ing
injured in a collision
. greatly increases.
WARNING
Use the shoulder belt on the outside shoulder only ..
Never wear the shoulder belt under the arm. Never
sWing it around the neck over the inside shoulder .
. Failure to follow these precautions could increase
the risk and/or severity of injury in an accident.
COMBINATION LAP AND SHOULDER BELTS
To fasten the belt, pull the lap/shoulder belt from the extractor so that the
shclUlder portion of the belt crosses your shoulder and chest. Insert the belt·
tongue into the proper buckle until you heat'asnap and feel it latch.
To tighten the lap portion of the belt, pull up on the shoulder belt until it fits .
you snugly. The belt should rest as lo~ on your hips as possible.

SAFETY BELT MAINTENANCE
Check your safety belt sysfem periodically to make. sure thatit works
properly and isn't damaged. If the webbing shows anywear, nicks or cuts, have
it elfamined by a qualified technician to determine if replacement is necessary.
Always have yoursafety belt system checked after a collision.
