Decode UPC/EAN/JAN Supplementals

Parameter # 16
Supplementals are bar codes appended according to specific format conventions (e.g., UPC A+2, UPC E+2,
EAN 13+2). The following options are available:
If you select Ignore UPC/EAN with Supplementals, and the linear imager scanner is presented
with a UPC/EAN plus supplemental symbol, the linear imager scanner decodes UPC/EAN and ignores
the supplemental characters.
If you select Decode UPC/EAN with Supplementals, the linear imager scanner only decodes UPC/EAN
symbols with supplemental characters, and ignores symbols without supplementals.
If you select Autodiscriminate UPC/EAN Supplementals, the linear imager scanner decodes
UPC/EAN symbols with supplemental characters immediately. If the symbol does not have a
supplemental, the linear imager scanner must decode the bar code the number of times set via
UPC/EAN/JAN Supplemental Redundancy on page 11-12
there is no supplemental.
If you select one of the following Supplemental Mode options, the linear imager scanner immediately
transmits EAN-13 bar codes starting with that prefix that have supplemental characters. If the symbol
does not have a supplemental, the linear imager scanner must decode the bar code the number of times
set via
UPC/EAN/JAN Supplemental Redundancy on page 11-12
that there is no supplemental. The linear imager scanner transmits UPC/EAN bar codes that do not have
that prefix immediately.
