5 SPEED HUB ADJUSTMENT
The 5 speed hub must not be used out of adjustment as this
may damage the gear components and cause the hub to
malfunction.
1. Ensure components are fitted correctly and that when
the indicator nut (1) is correctly tightened the axle (3)
protrudes no more than 2.5mm into the inspection hole
in the nut.
2. Ensure that the indicator chain (2) is fully screwed into
the Gear Selector Key. Turn back a maximum of half a
turn to line up with the bracket selector guide (10).
3. Check that the indicator chain (2) runs freely over the
bracket selector guide (10).
4. Select 5th gear on the control and connect the cable
connector (5) fully on the thread on the indicator
coupling (2A) and tighten locknut (4).
5. Select 2nd gear on the gear control and rotate the
rear roller to ensure the gear is engaged. Turn the cable
adjuster (2) until the centre of the red band at the end of
the indicator coupling (2A) is level with the end of the
axle (3).
6. Tighten the locknuts (6) to lock the adjuster (7).
