SUPPLEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONS
USING YOUR SPREADER
Precision spreaders are designed to spread dry, powdered or granulated, materials thinly and evenly over
any reasonably smooth surface.
Proceed as follows
1. Make certain that the material is dry and "free running". If in doubt pass it through a sieve with 3mm
(1/8") mesh to remove lumps.
2. Set rate-setting dial to No2.
3. Fill the hopper approximately ¾ full.
4. Push the spreader forward and open feed gate (push the knob down) whilst in motion. If spread is
uneven or inadequate pull the lever up and set micro-dial to a higher number. Repeat until satisfactory
distribution is obtained.
N.B. ALWAYS MOVE OFF BEFORE OPENING THE FEED-GATE. ALWAYS CLOSE THE
FEED-GATE BEFORE STOPPING.
Improper maintenance and storage of the push spreader may void your warranty.
MAINTENANCE
After each use clean any material out of the hopper.
Rinse/dry inside and outside of the spreader after each use.
It is not recommended that you use salt with this spreader. Rock salt should not be used. If you
chose to use salt, it should be refined deicing salt. It is especially important to thoroughly clean the
spreader when using salt, failure to clean salt out of the spreader will corrode the spreader and
reduce the life of the machine.
Before operating make sure the tyres have the RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE 25 PSI.
Periodically check all fasteners for tightness.
Annually clean and lightly lubricate parts.
Use a glossy enamel spray paint to touch up scratched or worn painted metal surfaces.
Never exceed load capacity rating of 125lbs, it will damage the spreader.
IMPORTANT:
If a part needs replacement, only use parts that meet the manufacturer's specifications. Replacement
parts that do not meet specifications may result in a safety hazard or poor operation.
STORAGE
Never allow material to remain in the hopper for extended periods of time.
Before storing make sure the spreader is clean and dry for years of trouble free service.
Store indoors or in a protected area during severe weather and winter months.
