7.12 Video text

7.12.1 Using your TV's video text decoder

Video/text will be displayed on your TV, provided that it is being broadcast. Use the remote
control of your TV set to operate the video text. If this causes TV problems, such as video-
text being superimposed on the picture, then set your digital receiver to FBAS mode
(Section 6.3.4).

7.12.2 Using the internal video text decoder

Alternatively, you can also use the integrated TOP video/text decoder, in order to display the
information. TOP video-text sub-divides all text pages and themes into groups, so that the
video-text is arranged more clearly.
>
Switch on the program with the video-text information, that you want to view.
>
Press the video-text key to switch the video-text on.
>
Enter the required video text page by means of the numeric keyboard.
Your input is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. Your unit will search for
the requested page after you have entered the video-text page. This might take a few
seconds until your unit finds the requested page and displays it on the screen, since
not all video-text pages can be broadcast simultaneously. All video-text providers use
Page 100 as the start page.
>
Use the red or green keys to page forwards or backwards.
>
Press the yellow control key to call up the video-text group displayed in the yellow
window.
>
Press the blue control key to call up the video-text block displayed in the blue win-
dow.
Stop operation
>
Press the freeze image key to display "Stop" in the upper left corner of the video-
text window.
This prevents automatic scrolling of the video text.
>
Press the freeze image key once again to switch stop mode off.
>
Return to standard operation by pressing the Return key.

7.13 Sub-titles

Broadcast sub-titles are indicated in the Select sub-title window. These are automatically
displayed, if you have activated the Subtitle function (according to section 6.3.3) but only if
these are broadcast in the selected language.
Proceed as follows to switch Sub-titles on, if they are being broadcast in another language or
via video-text:
