Preparing the notebook

Removing the battery

To prepare the notebook for maintenance:
1
Make sure that the disc drive is empty.

Turn off the notebook.

Close the LCD panel.
4
Disconnect the AC adapter, and network cable.
5
Disconnect all peripheral devices connected to the notebook and remove any Express
Cards and memory cards.

Remove the battery. For more information, see
To remove the battery:
1
Turn the notebook over so the bottom is facing up.
2
Slide the battery lock to the unlocked position
3
Slide the battery release latch, then slide the battery out of the notebook.
