DISPLAY MENU Screen

The following table identifies and describes the parameters that may be set using the DISPLAY screen.
Top half : Appearance on monitor screen
Bottom half : Appearance on LCD display
[ ] : Default setting
Parameter Possible settings
DISPLAY OFF This parameter is used to indicate whether or not status and alarm information is to
[ON] be displayed on the monitor screen.
OFF : No such data is to be displayed on-screen.
dISPLY oFF ON : Data is to be displayed on-screen.
[oN] When this parameter has been set to ON, the following parameters can be
used to indicate which types of status information will be displayed
For selecting whether to display the title/chapter/index information of a DVD disc
TITLE/CHAPTER/ [OFF]
INDEX TITLE+CHAPTER onscreen during recording or playback.

TITLE+CHAPTER : Display title and chapter onscreen

T+C These will not be displayed onscreen when the DISPLAY menu item is set to OFF.

RECORDER [OFF] This parameter is used to indicate whether or not the DVD recorder's current status
MODE ON is to be displayed on-screen.
OFF : The status is not to be displayed on-screen.
ModE [oFF] ON : The status is to be displayed on-screen. Note, however, that nothing will be
displayed when OFF has been set for the DISPLAY parameter.

TIME/DATE [OFF] This parameter is used to indicate whether or not the current date and/or time are to

dATE [oFF] TIME+DATE : Both date and time are to be displayed.
● When the DVD recorder is stopped or recording, data from the internal clock is

● Even if DATE, TIME, or DATE+TIME have been selected, nothing will be displayed

REMAIN [OFF] This parameter is used to indicate whether or not the disc's remaining time (in minutes)
ON is to be displayed on-screen.
OFF : No such data is to be displayed on-screen.
ON : This data is to be displayed on-screen.
● During recording, the remaining space available for recording is displayed (in minutes).
During playback, the time remaining in the current title is displayed.
● Nothing will be displayed when OFF has been set for the DISPLAY parameter.

The remaining space available for recording will depend on factors such as the number
of titles recorded and the data encoding method; accordingly, this value should be
treated as an estimate and not as an exact value.
DATE STYLE YY/MM/DD This parameter is used to select the display style for dates.
[MM/DD/YY] YY/MM/DD : Dates are to be displayed in year, month, and day sequence.
DD/MM/YY MM/DD/YY : Dates are to be displayed in month, day, and year sequence.
DD/MM/YY : Dates are to be displayed in day, month, and year sequence.
