Wireless & networks
From Wireless & networks, you can modify
the following features.
Enable Airplane Mode
While in an airplane, it is normally required
that you turn off your device because it emits
wireless signals that interfere with air traffic
control. In airplane mode, however, your
device does not send wireless signals.
Touch Airplane mode to enable airplane mode
and disable all wireless signals. A check mark
indicates that your device is in airplane mode.
Wi-Fi settings
From Wi-Fi settings, you can modify the
following features.
Enable Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi provides wireless Internet connection
when connected to a wireless access point over
a distance of up to 328-feet (100-meter). The
availability and range of Wi-Fi varies
depending on environmental obstructions
through which the signal passes.
Before you can connect your device with a
wireless local area network, you need to enable
the Wi-Fi feature on your device.
Touch Wi-Fi to enable Wi-Fi. A check mark
indicates Wi-Fi is active. If your device does
not automatically scan for available networks,
you will be prompted to begin a scan. Once the
scan is complete, a list of available networks is
shown.
Note: Using Wi-Fi will drain the battery faster.
