Putting documents onto the document glass

Open the platen cover.
When putting documents onto the document glass, always open the platen cover by at least 20 degrees.
The machine may be unable to detect the document size if you open the platen cover by less than 20 de-
grees.

With the front of the document facing down, align the document with the docu-
ment scale at the back left of the document glass.

Close the platen cover.
NOTE
• If a document is left on the ADF, any document on the document glass cannot be scanned.
• When copying an open book, do not press down too hard.
• The machine may be unable to detect the size of documents with high transparency or density.
