CD-ROM Drive Removal

Remove the CD-ROM drive as follows.
1. Remove the system unit bottom cover (see "Bottom Cover Removal" earlier
in this section).
2. Disconnect the CD-ROM drive interface cable from its connector on the
drive.

Release the cable retainer on the drive connector by gently pushing the
ends of the retainer away from the connector.

Carefully pull the cable out of the drive connector.

3. Remove the four screws securing the drive to the support plate.
4. Remove the CD-ROM drive from the system unit.
5. As required, remove the drive interface connector board from the drive by
removing one screw and unplugging the connector board from its connector
on the drive.
