SYMPTOM
42. The LCD monitor, the
viewfinder and the lens have
become dirty
(ex. fingerprints).
43. An unusual mark appears.
44. An error indication
(E01 — E06) appears.
45. The charger indicator on the
AC Power Adapter/Charger
does not light.
46. Picture does not appear on
the LCD monitor.
47. When the image is printed
from the printer, a black bar
appears at the bottom of the
screen.
48. When the camcorder is
connected via the DV
connector, the camcorder
does not operate.
49. The memory card cannot be
removed from the
camcorder.
POSSIBLE CAUSES

44. • A malfunction of some kind
has occurred. In this case the
camcorder's functions
become unusable.
45. • The temperature of the battery
is extremely high/low.
• Charging is difficult in places
subject to extremely high/low
temperatures.
46. • The viewfinder is pulled out.
• The LCD monitor's brightness
setting is too dark.
47. • This is not a malfunction.
48. • The DV cable was plugged/
unplugged with power turned
on.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
42. • Wipe them gently with soft
cloth. Wiping strongly can
cause damage (
pg. 84).
43. • Check the section of the
manual that explains LCD
monitor/viewfinder indica-
tions (
pg. 88 – 92).
44. • Remove the power supply
(battery pack, etc.) and wait a
few minutes for the indication
to clear. When it does, you
can resume using the
camcorder.
If the indication remains even
though you repeat the above
two or three times, please
consult your nearest JVC
dealer.
45. • To protect the battery, it is
recommended to charge it in
places with a temperature of
10°C to 35°C (50°F to 95°F)
(
pg. 93).
46. • Push the viewfinder back in.
• Adjust the brightness of the
LCD monitor (
pg. 20).
• If the monitor is tilted upward
180 degrees, open the
monitor fully (
pg. 20).
47. • By recording with "DIS"
activated (
pg. 41) this can
be avoided.
48. • Turn the camcorder's power
off and on again, then operate
it.
49. • Push in the memory card a
few more times (
