Motorola Razr V3x Personalization Guide (MoGu V3xPG) V2.5
monitor, your browser has already downloaded the flash file completely into your browser Cache. This tutorial is to
show you how to get/download/transfer the flash animations to your PC, how to edit the files to fit your phone, and
converting the swf files to animated GIF format. As most of us can only view/play JPEG or animated GIF images on
our phone, then it's nice to know how to convert swf files to GIF since in my opinion, flash animations look cooler and
smoother than bitmap-based animated images. Now let's start.
Step 1. SEARCHING FOR FLASH ANIMATIONS
n. Connect to the Internet and look for flash animations. Though some flash animations are copyrighted
materials, using them for personal use is okay provided you do not sell or make money from it.
Google for them by using "Flash animations" or "Flash Smileys" etc. as your search keywords.
o. For a good example, I have a flash animation for this tutorial at my
display.
Step 2. GETTING THE FILE ON YOUR DESKTOP
a. Load the animation fully into your browser. Do not close the browser if you haven't saved the animation yet.
METHOD 1: Use Internet Explorer and run the program Flash Saver. If you haven't downloaded it yet,
you better download it now. Read the program manual on how to save it. It's a click away.
METHOD 2: Open up your Browser Cache and look for the files that have *swf extensions. Check
which file is the animation you need as it could not be named the way it is. The browser cache is a
folder in your computer where the browser puts all the loaded images and files used to display the
webpages. To know where your Browser Cache is, see below:
INTERNET EXPLORER. If you are using Internet Explorer, click on Tools>Internet
Options>Temporary Internet Files>Settings. You will see which Folder the Browser Cache is
located. See picture: Now click on "View Files", then look for the flash animations. It would appear
too easy as my screenshot below. Copy the .swf file/files to your desktop or wherever you like for
editing and conversion to gif.
OPERA: If you are using OPERA, open up the folder C:\Documents and
settings\Username\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache*.
(*) Username means your current username in the PC. Cache means "cache" followed by a number.
Searching for the swf files would be a little difficult since opera renames the swf files.
Other Browsers: Sorry but I have no other browsers so maybe you will just look for the cache
location.
Step 3. CONVERTING THE ANIMATION TO TGA SEQUENCES
Now that you have the flash animation on your Desktop, we will be dealing with it with the program SWF2GIF. Run
Magic SWF2GIF and open up the flash animation you just downloaded. Follow the steps as illustrated below. NOTE:
If you would ask me why to render it to TGA sequences and not directly as GIF, then I would answer that the reason is
"quality" and "size". SWF2GIF can render it poorly and with very large size so it would be best to render it with another
kick-ass app. As soon as the rendering has been finished, SwF2GIF will open up the folder where it placed the
animation frames for you. The frames will of course be in TGA format. Take note of the destination Folder for the next
process. In No.2 of the illustration, we also took note of the animation dimensions. You can render it in customized
