This section describes handling documents for transmission or copying. Document pages may be inserted in two

The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) feeds document pages one-by-one, when

transmitting and copying.
The Book Scanner is used when transmitting or copying documents that cannot be han-
●
dled by the ADF, such as books, catalogs, and bound materials.
Place the document face up in the feeder.

Guide Plates
Place the document face up at the Document Feed Tray.

The documents pages are fed top-to-bottom.
Adjust the Document Guide Plates to the width of the pages.

3. Insert the document pages gently until they reach their initial edge and stop inside the
feeder (a beep is heard).
