This section describes how to clean various areas of the machine.
Before Starting Cleaning
Cleaning the External Surfaces

Using a damp cloth, wipe each surface area of
the machine.
Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water, or a gentle cleanser. Be certain to thor-

oughly wring out the cloth before using it, as dripping any liquid inside the machine can
cause machine failure.
The Panel Cleaning screen should be selected on the touch panel before cleaning

begins.
Both the glass surface of the document scanning area and the docu-

ment feed rollers should be cleaned often in order to maintain high
image quality. Any dirt or paper dust on these surfaces can adversely
affect the copy quality. Maintaining a regular cleaning schedule will
keep these areas free of contaminants.
