1.4 POWER ON

Turn on the power supply in the procedures specified below.
1) Make connections according to the mode in which the VG-819 cable is being set.
2) Turn on the POWER switch of the VG-819 unit.
3) Connect the AC POWER cord to the unit under inspection.
4) Turn on the POWER switch of the unit under inspection.
5) The LED of the unit under inspection is lit in yellow-green after turning on the power.
Note 1: When the POWER source switch is turned on for the first time, the initialization of EEPROM is
effected. In this period (about 5 seconds), the POWER switch must not be moved to the ON or
OFF position. Upon the completion of the initialization, a normal screen is displayed. (If no signal
input is entered, the "NO SIGNAL" OSD is displayed.)
Note 2: Since an electrified condition is assumed with the AC POWER cable left connected, connections
for the connectors should be carried out always under the condition that the AC POWER cord
plug has been pulled out.

1.5 Inspection

1.5.1 Inspection of LCD brightness and contrast

1) Enter input Signal 26 through the D-SUB port. This action makes the screen display in all white.
2) Display the OSD menu by pressing the MENU key and move the tab by pressing –down and +up keys.
Display the BRIGHTNESS adjustment screen by pressing MENU button.
3) Confirm that the white bar makes changes and the screen brightness is also changes when the +right
and -left buttons are operated.
4) Select contrast function on main menu by pressing. Adjust the cursor of CONTRAST by using the +right
and -left buttons
5) Confirm that the white bar makes changes and the screen contrast is also changed when the +right and
-left buttons are operated.
6) Select MISC by pressing –down or +up buttons and enter MISC menu from main menu by pressing
MENU button, then select RECALL by pressing –down or +up buttons and execute RECALL to reset
the contrast and brightness conditions. Make sure the contrast and brightness values are reset and the
screen is returned to its original state.
