The water filter status light will help yOL~ know when to change
your water filter. When the status light changes from green to
yellow, this tells you that it is alrsost time to chenge the water
filter, R is recommended that you replace the filter when the
states light changes to red OR when water flow to your
diepenser or ice rnal<er decreases noticeably, The filter should
replaced at least every 6 months depending on yocr water quality

After changing the water fiRer, reeet the status light by pressing
and holding the RES[ZT bultort for 2 seconds, The statue light will
change from Replace (red) to Good (green) when the system is

Changing the Water Filter
The water filter is located in the base grille below the freezer
conTpartmont door. It ie nol eeceseary to remove the base grille
to rernove the filter:
1, Remove the tilter by pressing the eject betlon arid pulling
straight out on tile tilter cap,
NOTES:

Avoid twlstingthe cep wllen removJeg the filter because

replace the cop and pull the filter straight out,

There will be water in the filter, Some spilling may occur,

IMPORTANT; Do not discard the cap. It is part of your
refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter,

protective cover from O-rings,

4, Place the cap (removed In Step 2) on the new tilter, Align the
ridge on the cap with the arrow on tile filter, rum the cap
clockwise until it snaps into place,

5. Push the new filter into the opening in tile base grilk,:,. As the
filter is inserted, the eject button will depress, The eject
bLttton will pop back out when the filter is fully engaged.
6. Pull gently on the cap to check that the filter is secerely in
place,
7, Flush the wa~er system, See "Flushing the Water System

Fluel~lng the Water System After Changing Filter
After connecting the refrigerai;or to a wt4er source, Ilush the
water system, Use a sturdy container to depress and hold the
water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for
5 seconds, Repeat oottl water begins to flow, Once water begins
to flow, oontJnoe depressing and releasing the dispenser lever
(5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) for an additional 2 minutes, This
will flush air from the filter and water dispensing systern,
Addktonel fleshing may be required in some households,
NOTE.- As air is cleared from the system, water may spurt out of
the dispenser,
Using the Dispenser Witllout tile Water Filter Cartridge
You can run the dispenser without a water filter cartridge. Your
water will net be filtered.
t, Remove the tilter by pressing the eject button and pulling on
the cap, See "Changing the Water Filter" earlier in this
section.
