PARTS REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
HIGH TORQUE DRIVE (HTD) BELT
1.
Remove both side covers.
2.
Loosen the idler assembly screw and slide the pulley down. loosening
the belt.
4.
Reverse the steps to install the belt.

Pull the belt off the large HTD sprocket slide it over the right crank arm.
Remove the belt from the small HTD sprocket.

Check the tension in the drive belt.

6.
To adjust the belt tension. slide the idler pulley up or down as
necessary. Tighten the idler assembly nut and recheck the belt
tension. Readjust the belt tension if necessary.
7.
Reinstall the covers.
POLY-V BELT
1.
Loosen the alternator adjustment nut and the alternator mounting
screw. Pivot the alternator down to loosen the poly-v belt.
2.
Remove the forward end of the belt from the poly-v pulley and then
extract the back end of the belt from the alternator pulley. You may to
twist the belt slightly during removal.
3.
Center the new belt on the two pulleys and pivot the alternator
up as necessary to allow .25" (0.6 cm) of belt deflection with fingertip
pressure at the center of the vertical portion of either side of the belt.
