On choosing the country, the TV norm
common to this country (in the United
Kingdom=PAL-I, in Germany = PAL-BG, in
France = SECAM-L etc.) and a country-
specific program sorting are called
automatically.
For Germany, for example, the ARD
program is stored on program slot 01, ZDF
on program slot 02, a regional program on
slot 03 and so on.
TV stations broadcast their programs
in different frequency ranges and on diffe-
rent channels. For instance, in the VHF/UHF
range (terrestrial), in cable TV systems also
in the special channel range or via satellite in
the satellite range.
If you choose the ASTRA satellite,
the set searches for stations with the PAL
norm in the 910 to 2050 MHz frequency
range. Both polarization levels are searched
one after the other. On condition that the
antenna system is suitable for a polarization
switching with 13/18 volts.
If you choose the Telecom satellite,
the set searches for stations with the
SECAM-L norm.
If stations with teletext or VPS identification
are found, an abbreviation for the program
name is stored as well.
If you want to store the TV programs in a
different order, see the chapter „Sorting
programs" on page 65.
