UPS Initial Startup

To start up the UPS:
1.
Verify that the internal batteries are connected.
Rack models. See "Installing the UPS" on page 16.
Tower models. See "Installing the UPS" on page 21.
2.
If optional EBMs are installed, verify that the EBMs are connected to the UPS.
Rack models. See "Connecting the EBM(s)" on page 18.
Tower models. See "Connecting the EBM(s)" on page 22.
3.
Plug the equipment to be protected into the UPS, but do not turn on the protected equipment.
4.
Make any necessary provisions for cord retention and strain relief.
5.
Models without an attached power cord. Plug the detachable UPS power cord into the input connector
on the UPS rear panel.
6.
Plug the UPS power cord into a power outlet.
The UPS front panel display illuminates and shows a status of "UPS initializing..."

Verify that the UPS transfers to Standby mode ("UPS on standby").
