You use the "Ringport" switch on the 4-pin DIP switch to select the ring ports for the
HIPER-Ring:

2.1.6 Adjusting the DIP switch settings on the
MICE MM3-2AUI media module (if existent)
With the 3-pin DIP switch in the lower panel of the MM3 -2AUI media module,
you enter settings for the SQE test function and for monitoring the DTE
voltage.
Note: Before starting operation, check whether the device in question
operates the transceiver with or without an SQE test.
V Before starting operation of the device, check whether the default settings
of the DIP switch correspond to your requirements.
