Traffic control
8.3 Rate Limiter
8.3.1 Description Rate Limiter
To guarantee reliable data exchange during high traffic, the Switch can limit
traffic.
Entering a limit rate for each port determines the amount of traffic the switch
is permitted to transmit and receive.
If the data load transmitted on this port exeeds the maximum load, the Switch
will discard the excessive data on this port.
A global setting activates/deactivates the rate limiter function at all ports.
8.3.2 Setting Rate Limiter for MACH 4000 and
Power MICE
V Select the Switching:Rate Limiter dialog.
"Ingress Limiter (kbit/s)" allows you to enable or disable
the ingress limiter function for all ports, and
to select the types of packets to which the limiter will apply (either
broadcast packets only or broadcast packets and multicast packets).
"Egress Limiter (Pkt/s)" allows you to enable or disable the egress limiter
function for broadcasts on all ports.
