MAIN ALARM PANEL

The Main Alarm Panel is the heart of the BNWAS. All settings are done from the Main
Alarm Panel.

How to Turn the System On/Off

Power to the system is
supplied from the Pro-
cessor Unit. The power
switches (AC and DC)
are inside the unit. See
page 4-9 for the location.
After the power is applied
to the system, the
BNWAS display, shown
below, appears.
Note: Wait at least one
minute before reapplying
the power to ensure correct startup.
Select the backup officer.
Select the operating mode.
Open the menu; return to previous setting or previous screen.
Select items on menus; adjust LCD brilliance and key backlighting.
Confirm operation; call the Captain or other navigation officer.
Make emergency call.
Reset the watch timer.
How to detach the hard cover from the unit
Put your thumbs on the front and forefingers
on the catches at the sides of the cover.
Pull the cover toward you.
