Possible cause
The camera is
set to the Digital
Camera setting
in the USB
Configuration
sub-menu of the
Setup menu, but
the computer
cannot
recognize the
camera as a
digital camera.
The camera is
connected to the
computer
through a USB
hub, and your
USB hub is not
compatible with
the camera.
You are using
the HP 8881
camera dock
and forgot to
press the Save/
Print button.
The memory
card is locked.
The USB
connection
failed.

Solution
Change the USB
Configuration
Disk Drive in the
menu. (page 88.) This
allows the camera to
appear as another disk
drive on the computer so
that you can easily copy
the image files from the
camera to the hard drive
of your computer.
Connect the camera
directly to a USB port on
the computer.
Press the Save/Print
on the camera dock.
Switch the locking tab on
the memory card to the
unlocked position.
Reboot the computer.
