Chapter 7: Troubleshooting and Support
Possible cause
The memory
card needs to be
formatted.
The memory
card is formatted
for a different
device such as
an MP3 player.
The memory
card is
corrupted.
The memory
card is locked.
There is
insufficient room
to save more
images on the
memory card.
The camera is
having trouble
reading the
card. The
memory card
may be
corrupted or an
unsupported
type.
Solution
Format the memory card
(remove the card from the
camera if you do not want
it to be formatted).
Re-format the memory
card (remove the card
from the camera if you do
not want it to be
reformatted).
Replace the memory card.
Switch the locking tab on
the memory card to the
unlocked position.
Unload images from the
camera to your computer,
then delete all images on
the memory card
(page 65). Or replace the
card with a new one.
Try turning the camera
off and then back on.
Ensure that the memory
card is the proper type
for your camera (see
page 137). If it is the
proper type, try
formatting it (see
page 65). If it will not
format, it is probably
corrupted. Replace the
memory card.
