Problem
My image is
too dark.

Possible cause
There was not
enough light.
The flash was
on, but the
subject was too
far away.
A light is
behind the
subject.
The scene had
many light-
colored objects,
such as a white
dog in snow.
Solution
Wait for natural lighting
conditions to improve.
Add indirect lighting.
Use the pop-up flash (page 32).
Adjust the
EV Compensation
(page 42).

Make sure your subject is within
the flash working distance (see
Appendix C: Specifications
page 135). If so, try using the
FLASH OFF
(page 32), which will require a
longer exposure (use a tripod).
