GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

For safe operation, your Life Fitness 3500 treadmill MUST be properly grounded.
Should the unit malfunction, proper grounding provides a path of least resistance for the
electric current, which reduces the risk of electrical shock to anyone touching or using
the unit. Each unit is equipped with an electrical cord with an equipment grounding
conductor and a grounding plug. The unit must be plugged into an appropriate outlet
that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with local codes and ordinances.
A temporary adapter may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle in the U.S.
and Canada if a properly grounded outlet is not available. A TEMPORARY ADAPTER
SHOULD BE USED ONLY UNTIL A PROPERLY GROUNDED OUTLET CAN BE
INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
DANGER: Electrical shock may result from improper connection of the equipment
grounding conductor. Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to proper
grounding techniques. DO NOT modify the plug provided with the product. If it does not
fit your electrical outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
