Disc language setting

Use this setting for selecting languages of subtitle, audio and disc menu.
I Note that the language you select is not displayed or does not sound if it is
not recorded on the disc you are playing.
I With some discs, it is intentionally disabled by the disc manufacturer to
change the language of the subtitle, audio and disc menu through this setup
screen. When playing such discs, try using the function control (page 36).
Setting SUBTITLE, AUDIO and DVD MENU languages from 9
languages Example: Selecting "FRENCH"

Whilst a disc is stopped, press the SET UP button whilst
pressing down the SHIFT button to display the setup
screen.
2 Use the cursor 3 or 4 button
to select the "Language".

Press the ENTER button and then use the cursor 3 or 4 but-
ton to select "SUBTITLE", "AUDIO" or "DVD MENU".
You can set "SUBTITLE", "AUDIO" or "DVD MENU".
4 Select the language you want to use with the cursor 1 or 2
button.
If you want to use any languages
that are not on OSD, proceed to
step 1 to the right "Selecting a
language from others".

Use the cursor 3 or 4 button and repeat step 4 above to
go on with other disc language settings in
succession.
To exit the setup screen and return to the startup screen, press the
SET UP button whilst pressing down the SHIFT button.
Note:
To set the changed language setting effective, the disc information should be
read again by removing the disc (or loading another disc).

Selecting a language from others

In step 4 to the left, select
"OTHERS" with the cursor 1 or 2
button, then press Numeric button
to enter the language code (see next
page). Example : Press 6570 to
select Afrikaans.

Press the ENTER button to set the language code.
To exit the setup screen and return to the startup screen, press the
SET UP button whilst pressing down the SHIFT button.

SUBTITLE: ENGLISH
I You cannot open the setup screen whilst a playback operation is in progress.
DVD MENU: ENGLISH
If a disc is playing, stop playback first.
I If you make a mistake when entering the number, press CLEAR/DISPLAY
SELECT SAVE & QUIT SET UP button to erase it and then enter a new number.
