Dust collection

DO NOT operate the Model G0679 without an
adequate dust collection system. This sand-
er creates substantial amounts of wood dust
while operating. failure to use a dust collec-
tion system can result in short and long-term
respiratory illness.
To connect a dust collection hose:
1.
Fit the 4" flexible dust hose over the dust
ports located at each end of the belt assem-
bly, as shown in figure 34, and secure them
in place with hose clamps.

2.
tug the hoses to make sure they do not
come off. Note: A tight fit is necessary for
proper performance.

Test Run

once the assembly is complete, test run your
machine to make sure it runs properly.
if, during the test run, you cannot easily locate
the source of an unusual noise or vibration, stop
using the machine immediately, then review the
Troubleshooting on page 33.
if you still cannot remedy a problem, contact our
tech support at (570) 546-9663 for assistance.
To test run the machine:
1.
Make sure you have read the safety instruc-
tions at the beginning of the manual and that
the machine is setup properly.
2.
Make sure all tools and objects used during
setup are cleared away from the machine.
3.
Connect the machine to the power source.
4.
tension the belt so that less than
observed along its length.
5.
turn the machine ON.
6.
listen and watch for abnormal noises or
actions. the machine should run smoothly
with little or no vibration or rubbing noises.
— strange or unusual noises should be inves-
tigated and corrected before operating the
machine further. always disconnect the
machine from power when investigating or
correcting potential problems.
7.
turn the machine OFF.
