    Basic Operations Overview of the Device: Power Button Menu Button Turning the Device On and Off: To turn the device on, press the Power Button. The GPS will then load the main menu. To turn the device off, press and hold the Power Button. The GPS will prompt you to select Sleep or Power Off.

    Connecting the Device to your Computer: Use the supplied USB Cable and connect one end into your Computer and the other end into your GPS. There are several different ways of using the USB Connection: 1) Mass Storage (Default) This will allow you to copy files to the Device and it will appear as a removable disk 2) MS Activesync This will allow you to synchronize your Device with the computer (This is only recommended for Advanced Users)

    Menu Operations When the GPS first loads it will display the Main Menu. From here you can choose what you would like to do. To move between Menu’s press the options at the bottom of the screen. Then to see more information about that selection, press the middle of the Screen.

    GPS: Select the GPS Option from the Bottom of the screen. Press the GPS Display in the middle of the screen. It will then load the Navigation software from the SD Card. If no SD Card is inserted pressing this button will not do anything. If you have correctly followed instructions the screen below will display: Music: Select the Music Option from the Bottom of the screen.
  • Page 9 This will then load the Music Player. You can then play music that you have loaded onto the SD Card. Press the Playlist button (Green button above) to find the music and add it to your playlist. Once you have added your songs to the Playlist press Play. You can change the position of the track which you are listening to by using the Bar at the bottom left of the screen.

    Video: Select the Video Option from the Bottom of the screen. This will then load the Movie Player. You can then play Videos that you have loaded onto the SD Card. Press the Playlist button to select the movie to watch and it will load. Double tap the video to go to full screen and do the same to go back.

    1 Warnings and Safety information Nav N Go iGO 8 is a navigation system that helps you find your way to your destination with a connected GPS receiver. Nav N Go iGO 8 does not transmit your GPS position; others cannot track you.

    2 Getting started with Nav N Go iGO 8 Nav N Go iGO 8 is optimised for in-car use. You can use it easily by tapping the screen buttons and the map with your fingertips. Nav N Go iGO 8 can plan routes throughout the whole installed map set; you do not need to change maps or switch to a poorly detailed general map to navigate between map segments or countries.

    3.10 Deleting the active route The easiest way to delete the active route in both Simple mode and Advanced mode is to open the Route Information screen by tapping the Turn Preview field ( ) on the Map screen, and then tapping In Advanced mode, you have another option.

    Simulating a Track Log on the map Tap the following buttons: Locate the desired Track Log, and then tap the button next to it. The map returns, and the Track Log simulation (a life-like replay) begins. You can stop the replay any time by tapping the button.

    Symbol Name Description Route colour The route always stands out with its colour on the map, both in daytime and in night colour mode. The active leg of the route is always displayed in a brighter shade than the inactive (upcoming) legs.

    Alternatively, when you tap the map, control buttons appear. Tap again to place the Cursor, a radiating red dot. Now tap , and the Cursor menu opens with a list of options. In order to show a part of the map with the Cursor menu, it contains only a few buttons first. to get all the options.

    Button Description If the Cursor is at or near the selected start point, this button replaces the previous one, and deletes the start point from the route. The current GPS position is used again as the start point, and Automatic Off-route Recalculation is re-enabled. The Cursor is saved as a user POI.

    Button Description Show Street Names Street names and POI icons can be disturbing on the map during navigation. With this switch you can suppress these map elements when Nav N Go iGO 8 is following your position on the map. If you move the map, both the street names and POI icons reappear immediately.

If you do not need such a detailed log, you can increase this number to save track log space.

    5 Glossary 2D/3D GPS reception The GPS receiver uses satellite signals to calculate its (your) position and need at least four signals to give a three-dimensional position, including elevation. Because the satellites are moving and because objects can block the signals, your GPS device might not receive four signals.
  • Page 104 Overview mode You can instruct Nav N Go iGO 8 to automatically switch to Overview mode if the next route event is in a distance. In Overview mode the map is shown in 2D but scaled down to a predefined zoom level. When you approach the next route event, the previous 2D or 3D map view returns automatically.

    6 End User Licence Agreement 1. The contracting parties 1.1.
