7.6.2 SNMP Settings
This option allows you to assign the contact details, location, and community name and trap
settings for SNMP. This is a networking management protocol used to monitor network‐
attached devices. SNMP allows messages (called protocol data units) to be sent to various
parts of a network. Upon receiving these messages, SNMP‐compatible devices (called agents)
return data stored in their Management Information Bases.
SNMP Enable/Disable: Choose to enable or disable the SNMP feature.
Contact: Specify the contact details of the device.
Location: Specify the location of the device.
Read‐Only Community Name: Specify the password for access the SNMP community for
read only access.
Read‐Write Community Name: Specify the password for access to the SNMP community
with read/write access.
Trap Destination IP Address: Specify the IP address of the computer that will receive the
SNMP traps.
Trap Destination Community Name: Specify the password for the SNMP trap community.
Click on the Apply button to save the changes.
