Chapter 2 Mechanical Installation

This chapter expounds the mechanical installation of the Liebert_DM AC, including unpacking & inspection,
installation notes, system installation arrangement, installing indoor unit, installing outdoor unit, piping, removing
transportation fastener and vibration absorber, adding refrigerant for long pipe system and check list.

2.1 Unpacking And Inspection

Move the product to the place most close to the final installation site and then unpack it.
If any part is found missing or damaged, please report to your carrier immediately. If any covert defect is found,
please report to the carrier and the local sales office too. Do not accept a damaged unit.

2.2 Installation Notes

1. The Liebert_DM AC adopts split-floor installation. The indoor unit must be installed on the floor in the equipment
room or computer room. The outdoor unit can be installed outdoors or on the floor in other rooms.
2. Before installation, make sure that the installation environment meets the requirements (see 1.6 Ambient
Requirements) and that the building should be transformed to accommodate the construction work such as piping,
wiring and ventilation ducts.
3. The installers must strictly follow the design drawings for installation and reserve space for installation and
maintenance. The manufacturer's engineering dimension drawings can serve as a reference.

2.3 System Installation Arrangement

2.3.1 General Arrangement

The system general arrangement diagram is shown in Figure 2-1. The standard pipe sizes are shown in Table 2-1.
