' ' Tone scan operation
This transceiver can detect the CTCSS tone frequency or
DTCS code in the received signal. By monitoring a signal that
is being transmitted from the other station, you can determine
the tone frequency or DTCS code necessary to open a
squelch.
This function very useful when you are going to communicate
with unknown CTCSS tone or DTCS code number stations.
Scans all of the CTCSS tone frequency and DTCS code, then
stops when a matched tone code is detected.
q Rotate [VOL] to turn the power ON.
w Push [Side2] (CH Up) or [Side3] (CH Down) to select the
desired channel that you want to assign the CTCSS tone
frequency or DTCS code.
e Push [Code] for 1 sec. to start the tone scan.
• During scanning, push [Code] to stop the scan.
During scanning CTCSS
tone frequency.
r The tone scan stops when the tone code is detected.
• During scanning, push [Code] to stop the scan.
• Scan resumes 3 sec. after the signal disappears.
t Push [Code] or [PTT] to determine the tone code number.
