SECTION 4 CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION 4-1 RECEIVER CIRCUITS The converted 1st IF signal is passed through the 1st IF fi lter (FI1) to fi lter-out adjacent signals, then applied to the 1st IF 4-1-1 ANTENNA SWITCHING CIRCUIT (PA-C UNIT) amplifi er (Q7). The amplifi ed 1st IF signal is then applied to The antenna switching circuit toggles the receive (RX) line and the FM IF IC (IC9, pin 16).
The AF signal from the analog switch (IC3, pin 11) are 4-2 TRANSMITTER CIRCUITS applied to the volume buffer amplifi er (IC6, pin 9). The buffer- 4-2-1 MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER CIRCUITS amplifi ed AF signals are adjusted its level (=audio level) by (MAIN-C UNIT) volume control pot (R315), then applied to the AF power The AF signals from the microphone (MIC signals) are...

4-2-3 TRANSMIT AMPLIFIERS (PA-C UNIT) 4-2-4 APC CIRCUIT (PA-C UNIT) The transmit signal from the VCO is amplifi ed to the transmit The APC (Automatic Power Control) circuit prevents the output level by the transmit amplifi ers. transition of the transmit output power level which is caused by load mismatching or heat effect, etc.
4-3 PLL CIRCUITS 4-3-2 PLL IC The PLL circuit provides stable oscillation of the transmit 4-3-1 VCO frequency and receive 1st LO frequency. The PLL output VCO is a oscillator whose oscillating frequency is controlled frequency is controlled by the divided ratio (N-data) from the by adding voltage (lock voltage).
4-4 DIGITAL CIRCUITS (DSP UNIT) 4-4-2 TRANSMITTING The MIC signals from the AF mixer (MAIN-C UNIT; IC5, pin 7) 4-4-1 RECEIVING are applied to the linear codec (IC16, pin 2) and converted The 450 kHz 2nd IF signal from the IF IC (MAIN-C UNIT; into the digital audio data.
4-6 PORT ALLOCATIONS Port Description Name 4-6-1 CPU ( IC22) Outputs Analog/Digital select signal to the A/D Port DIGI switch (D2, D3). Description Name “High”=Digital mode is selected. KR1− Outputs serial data to the LCD driver (IC20, pin 48). 1−3 Input ports for dealer-programmable keys.
