The recipient is connected to a telephone
exchange accessed by detection of a second
tone.
To associate detection of a second tone of the
telephone exchange with a number, press the
(FUNCTION) key while dialling the number.
The display shows ":" (this feature is only en-
abled in some countries).
If you want to listen to the line tones while
dialling without lifting the handset (hands
free).
The fax machine is already enabled to listen
both to the connection signals and to the line
tones. If this is not the case, read the following
procedures or see "Listening to the connection
signal" in "For more sophisticated use".

If you want to use rapid dialling procedures.
The fax machine also has rapid dialling features
such as one touch dialling, speed dialling and group
dialling. To use these features, you must pro-
gramme them as described in "Programming one
touch, speed and group dialling".
Once you have programmed them, all you will
have to do is press one key (one-touch dial) or
the
key followed by a two digit numeric code
(speed dialling and group dialling) to dial a num-
ber (see "Transmitting with one touch dialling"
and "Transmitting with speed dialling" and
"Transmitting with group dialling").

TIME (DELAYED TRANSMISSION)
The fax machine has a memory which allows you to
send documents at a preset time (delayed transmis-
sion) and to transmit a document to several recipi-
ents (max. 50 - broadcasting transmission).
You can set an immediate memory transmission
simply by pressing the
recipient's number using any of the available meth-
ods and then pressing the

you can set up to 10 memory transmissions at a
time, as follows:

Make sure that the display shows the initial wait-
ing mode and the date and time.

The fax machine starts storing the document. While
the document is being stored, the display shows:
«RESOL. 100%» (first line); «MEMORIS. #XXXX»
(second line), including the stored percentage and
the amount of memory free, which will gradually
decrease as the document is stored. When finished,
you will see the total number of pages stored for a
few seconds and then:
