Instances where you may need to download an operating system or application image file
to your D20MX:
• When a new version of the operating system or application image has been released.
• If the D20MX has performed self-diagnostics and determined that the application
image file is either missing or corrupted.
• After maintenance or replacement work that has deleted the application file.
The following items must be available before an application or operating system image file
can be loaded into a D20MX over a serial or network link:
• Windows PC with SGConfig version 7 and higher software.
• The application firmware file, preferably located on a local hard drive.
This file will be named: appl.out.
• Optionally, the operating system image file, preferably located on a local hard drive.
This file will be named: vxWorks.
• A NULL modem cable (GE Energy part number 977-0529) connecting the RS-232
connector on the front panel of the D20MX to the serial communications port of a PC
or terminal.
• The D20MX module must be installed into a D20 chassis, ready to power-up.
The following item must be available before an application or operating system image file
can be loaded into a D20MX over a serial link:
• A NULL modem cable (GE Energy part number 977-0529) connecting the RS-232
connector on the front panel of the D20MX to the serial communications port of a PC
or terminal.
The following item must be available before an application firmware file can be loaded into
a D20MX over the network:
• An Ethernet switch and appropriate Ethernet patch cables to connect your PC's
Network Adapter and the D20MX's Ethernet port 1 to the switch.
Remedy
Open the D20MX configuration in SGConfig.
Ensure the B014USER table in the WESMAINT
II+ application (B014-1N) is enabled. Then,
synch the configuration to the D20MX.
Open the D20MX configuration in SGConfig.
Ensure the B014USER table in the WESMAINT
II+ application (B014-1N) contains at least one
record with a non-blank username. Then,
synch the configuration to the D20MX.
Synch a configuration to the D20MX.
