Fit the two bars (part 123) through the side boxes, then glue the bulwark stanchions 1 to 6 (part 124 to
129) to the bulwark in the correct position. This procedure ensures that the bars are set at the correct
height; they can now be glued in place. Glue the bulwark stanchions 7 (part 130) to the top of the bars.
Bevel the ends of the bars at 45° to match the end of the bulwark.
Glue the bulwark supports 1 to 7 (part 131 to 137) to the associated stanchions.
Glue the support plate (part 138) to the bar and the inside of the bulwark.
Drill the holes for the gooseneck ventilators (part 139), glue the small handwheels to the ventilators, and
then glue the ventilators to the deck.
Prepare the bow flagstock (part 140) by gluing the flagstock ring (part 141) to the projecting ledge of the
bulwark and continuing the hole through the ledge. Glue the flagstock cap (part 142) to the top end of the
flagstock, then glue it in the hole.
The masts for the jumping sheet can now be assembled from parts 143 to 149. Glue the base plate for
the switch box (part 150) to the starboard mast. Cut out the switch box, glue it to the base plate, and glue
the switch (part 152) to the top of the box.
Remove the integral base plate from the double cruciform bollards (part 153), sand back the bottom of
the columns to the point where they lie parallel to the keel waterline, and then attach them to the deck
and the side boxes at the positions indicated.
Cut out the anchor chain hawse (part 154) and glue it to the deck.
Glue an axle (part 157) and a handwheel (part 158) to the large manhole cover (part 155) and repeat the
procedure with the small manhole cover (part 156). Glue two hinges to each manhole cover, then glue
these assemblies to the deck.
Glue the cover plate (part 160) to the winch base plate (part 159), followed by the three gearbox covers
(part 161). Glue the handwheel (part 162) to the axle (part 163), then drill a hole in the two large plates at
an angle of 45°, and glue the handwheel in the hole. Cut out the winch (part 164), and carefully sand the
edges flat so that the two shells fit together flush, with a rounded overall shape. Glue the shells together,
and glue the winch in the large opening in the cover plate.
Glue together the parts of the chain stopper (part 165). Glue the handwheel to the shaft (part 167), then
attach this assembly to the chain stopper. Sand the underside of the chain stopper in such a way that it
lies flush on the deck and the winch base, then glue it in place.
Cut out the chain guide (part 168), glue the parts together, then glue the chain cover (part 169) to the
guide and fix this assembly to the deck.
Cut the anchor chain (part 170) to length; it will eventually be glued to the deck, but only after the model
has been painted.
Complete the manhole covers (part 171) using the handwheels (part 172), axles (part 173) and hinges,
as described previously. Glue these assemblies to the deck.
Sand away the base plate from the double cruciform bollards (part 174), and glue them to the deck as
already described.
Cut one double cruciform bollard in half to produce a single cruciform bollard (part 175). Glue an end-cap
(part 176) to each of the cut ends. Drill a central 4 mm Ø hole in the bollard, taking care to avoid the drill
wandering out of line; the bollard can now be glued to the deck.
Drill holes in the deck for the gooseneck ventilators (part 177), glue the handwheels in place, then glue
the ventilators to the deck.
Assemble the parts of the transverse box (part 178). IMPORTANT: the centre plates which press the bar
down from the slide must be selected in such a way that the rails and the slide can move into the box at
the bottom without fouling or becoming stuck. Two plates are provided as standard, but if necessary it is
possible to cut away the lower surface if the opening is not sufficient. IMPORTANT: the contact surface
must be sanded at an angle so that the bar makes full contact, and is able to transfer the pressure force
to the box effectively.
Glue the base plates (part 179) inside the bottom of the boxes, and sand back the undersides to the
point where they rest flush on the deck. Cut a piece of ribbed sheet (part 180) to fit, glue it in the
depression in the box, then glue the latches (part 181) to the hatches.
Drill the connecting holes in the capture hook (part 182). IMPORTANT: it is essential to ensure before-
hand that the capture ring on the daughter boat lines up correctly with the hook. You can check this by
temporarily fixing the box on the deck using double-sided adhesive tape. Place the daughter boat in the
correct position, then hold the hook against the turret. Mark on the hook the position of the hole in the
turret. For reliable operation the length of the hook at the 'capture' end must be 2/3 of the overall length.
When you are confident, drill a 2 mm Ø hole in the hook and a 1 mm Ø hole for the pull-cable. Fix the
hook in place using the M2 screw (part 183), the two washers (part 184) and the nut. NOTE: the hook
must be free to move, but without any significant slop.
Attach the pull-cord (part 186) to the hook: drill a 1.2 mm Ø hole exactly vertically under the hook, and
thread the cable through it. Attach the hook servo (part 187) to the support plate using double-sided
