1.
Ensure that the lock handle is disengaged.
2.
Holding the module by the corners of its bezel, align it so that it is level and square with the
front panel of the chassis.
3.
Slide in the module until most of the unit is in the slot and you feel the resistance of the
midplane connector, and the lock handle begins to engage in its locking slot.
4.
Press the lock handle in to complete the connection and fasten the unit in the slot.
Use the following procedure to remove a module from the sRBD drawer:
1.
Disengage the lock handle and lever it out until the module has detached from its midplane
connector.
2.
Pull gently on the unlocked lever handle until about 1" of the module protrudes from the
chassis.
3.
Hold the corners of the modules front bezel and pull it out of the slot.

6.7 Installing or Replacing the Router Blade Drawer (sRBD)

You can install a populated or unpopulated drawer in the chassis.

Figure 6-9
shows the following sRBD features:
1.
Ejector latch, incorporating a red unlock button.
2.
Blade insertion and removal levers.
3.
Blade modules (three per sRBD).
4.
Security screw.
Use the following procedure to insert an sRBD to the chassis:
1.
Verify that the ejectors are unlocked by pressing the red button.
2.
Carefully seat the sRBD into the side guide rails, ensuring that it is level and square with
the slot.
3.
Slowly slide the sRBD into the chassis until the ejectors begin to engage on the chassis edge.
4.
Tighten the four security screws in the following sequence:
a.
Top right.
b.
Bottom left.
c.
Top left.
d.
Bottom right.
Use the following procedure to extract a line board from the chassis:
1.
Unsecure the four security screws.
2.
Press the red button to unlock the ejectors.
3.
Press the ejectors outwards and slowly slide out tsRBD out of the chassis.
