correctly.
Unsharp Mask setting is
selected.
Colors differs from the original or look strange.
Cause
Screen is not calibrated.
Image Type and Color
Management settings are
incorrect.
Normal scanning.
Poor character recognition during OCR scanning.
Cause
Resolution setting is
unsuitable.
Threshold setting is
unsuitable.
Move or angle the document slightly.
De-select Unsharp Mask for a softer
focus setting.
What to do
Calibrate the screen. See Chapter 3.
Make sure the Image Type (page
4-10) and Color Management
settings (page 4-11) are correct.
Printed colors will not exactly match
the colors on your monitor, since
printers and monitors use different
color systems: monitors use RGB (red,
green, and blue), while printers
typically use CMYK (cyan, magenta,
yellow, and black).
What to do
Select a different Resolution setting
on the OCR/Line Art menu.
Try adjusting the Threshold setting
on the OCR/Line Art menu.
