1. Precautions • When you open the cardboard box of the LCD monitor, please check that the indi- cated accessories and cables are present. It is recommended not to dispose of the packaging materials and to store them for later use if it becomes necessary to transport again for after-sales service, or main- tenance purposes.
2. General Description This MLW-2420C is a 24” Wide Screen, Multi-format LCD monitor for specialist ap- plications where high quality picture reproduction and true colour rendition is re- quired. It employs a very fine LCD panel of 1920(H)x1200(V) WUXGA with full colour repro- duction of 16.7 million colour graduation ( 8 bit x 3 colours ) with high brightness...

Aspect Ratio Change : Aspect Ratio of the picture on a screen can be changed in 4 by 3 or 16 by 9. User Setup Memory Change-over : Five different settings for picture setup parameters such as brightness or colour ren- derings on each input can be memorized and can be called when it becomes necessary.

4. Input Signal Connection For a standard type (without Optional input unit) 4-1. NTSC/PAL Analog Video : Connect to the Video input. 4-2. NTSC/PAL+ Analog S-Video : Connect to the S-Video input. 4-3. RGB or Y.Pb.Pr. Analog Signals (BNC Connector) For G/Y signal : Connect to a component G/Y input.
5. Operation 5-1. Input Selection and Controls There are 6 keys on the front panel. Those are, (from left to right), input select keys, SEL 1, SEL 2, SEL 3, and a Menu/Set key, Plus(+) key and Minus (-) key and a front power switch and power indication LED on far right.
5-3. Menu setting and Key operation The Setup Menu is showing presently input parameters and also setting func- tion. It does not show when parameters are not input, or select to input. 5-3-1. Input signal Selection Input signal selection is made by those keys, SEL 1, SEL 2 and SEL 3. The last selected input is memorized and appears when powering on again.

5-3-2. Direct Setting for Colour Pre-set, Brightness and Contrast : (1) Colour Pre-set : This works when pressing the Menu/SET Key for a longer period, more than 3 seconds and a maximum 6 positions can be set. A preset number will be displayed.
5-4. STATUS/EXT Screen This screen shows the input signal condition and setting status of the monitor. • Input: Shows selected input signals. For example, the composite video is se- lected for input, when it shows VIDEO. And it shows Y/C, PC or DVI. •...

• DPMS: This Display Power Management System is to save power consumption to deactivate the Back Light when there is no input signal or no manipulation after more than 30 seconds. Pressing the power ON/OFF, or feed input signals, or key manipulation resumes power.
5-6. Display Control Setup Screen This is to make settings for the aspect ratio of input signal, display positions or sizes of horizontal and vertical conditions, sampling clock frequency or phase position. • Aspect: To select a aspect ratio of the signal. There are three positions.

• Clock: This is to adjust a sampling dot number of Analog signals, other than Video/S-Video, DVI signals. (+) key to increase sampling frequency. (-) key to decrease sampling frequency. With component signal input or PC input, the optimum condi- tion can be observed, by adjusting horizontal sampling dot num- ber to match the dot number of input signal.
5-7. Image Setting Screen This is to adjust composite and Y/C Video Signals. Controls for brightness and Contrast are possible with all kinds of input signals. • Contrast: This is to adjust the contrast, that is to control white level of signals.
5-8. Color Control Screen This screen is used to adjust colors. The color temperatures 6500º and 9300º are fixed. • G. Offset: The dark zone of G (green) is adjusted. The black level of G gets lower to- ward the + side and higher toward the - side. • B. Offset: The dark zone of B (blue) is adjusted. The black level of B gets lower toward the + side and higher toward the - side.
5-9. RESET Selection Screen All the settings are returned to their factory ones. Screen display Execute the Factory Reset, and all the settings will be back to their factory ones. Note: When this step is taken, all the settings made after the purchase will be cleared. 5-10.
6. Input Signal List 6-1. Control of Input Signal The following chart shows controllable parameters for different input Signals. * Asterisk shows controllable factor only on Normal Scan mode. Those are common setting on DPMS, Contrast, Brightness, and Gamma.
7. Simple Trouble Shooting If you have trouble or a malfunction with this LCD monitor, please consult with an Authorized person for service. However, the following suggestions may be useful in solving simple problems. No Power: • Please check the other power switch on a rear and also the power switch on a front panel.

Colour on the screen is pale : • Is the chroma level set correctly (around 128)? Please Note 128 is the correct level for Composite video input and Y/C input. What about the brightness level, is it too high ? What about the Gamma setting? It should be around 2.2.
