4.2.3.9 Removing the Ink Cartridge Holder & Slots
The Ink Cartridge Holder is made up of six individual slots, one for each color
of ink. The following instructions describe how to access and remove one of
those slots.
Before removing and ink cartridge slot, drain the ink as
described in the Clean Head section of "Adjustment Menu"
on page 174.
To manually perform an initial ink charge, see "Cleaning
Menu" on page 194
After disassembly and reassembly of the cover-open sensor,
perform the cover-open sensor adjustment as described in
"Cover Open Sensor Assembly" on page 200.
1. Drain the ink as described in the Clean Head section of "Adjustment
Menu" on page 174.
2. Remove the R Side Cover as described in "R Side Cover Removal" on
page 114.
3. Remove the L Side Cover as described in "L Side Cover Removal" on
page 116.
4. Remove the I/C Holder Cover as described in "I/C Holder Cover Removal"
on page 116.
5. Remove the H Top Cover as described in "H Top Cover Removal" on
page 117.
6. Remove the Cover-Open sensor cable and six Ink Cartridge sensor cables
from the C299MAIN board (refer to Table 4-4, "C299MAIN Board
Connectors," on page 123 for details), and then remove the cables from
their harness clamps.

7. Pull out the cables through the opening in the L Side frame, and remove
the cables from the four clamps.

8. Remove two screws (CPP M3x8) securing the ink tube cover and remove
the cover.
