Defective drive

Drives are reported as "Dead" at system boot
Configuration of the RAID controller is wrong.
Ê Check and correct the settings for the drives using the RAID controller utility.
Further information can be found in the operating manual for the RAID controller
(on the ServerView Suite DVD 2 under "Controllers").
Added drive is reported as defective
The RAID controller is not configured for the drive. The drive was probably
installed when the system was switched off.
Ê Reconfigure the RAID controller for the drive using the corresponding utility.

ServerView Suite DVD 2 under "Controllers").
or
Ê Remove and reinstall the drive while the system is switched ON.
If the drive continues to be shown as defective, then replace it.
