The printer driver settings are
not correct.
The High Speed setting is
selected in the printer driver.
Colors are different from what you expect.
Cause
The color print head nozzles
are clogged.
Black ink is selected in your
printer driver.
The paper is not loaded
printable side up.
The Media Type setting does
not match the paper loaded.
The ICM (Windows) or
ColorSync (Macintosh)
setting in your driver is not
appropriate for your
document.
Check the printer driver settings to
make sure they are appropriate. If
these settings are correct, check your
application because some settings are
overridden by application settings.
Also, for more information on making
printer driver settings, see online help
for Windows, or Chapter 5 for
Macintosh.
To obtain higher quality output, make
sure High Speed is not selected.
What to do
Clean the print head. See "Cleaning
the Print Head" on page 8-30.
Set the Ink setting to Color.
Check that the printable side of the
paper is facing up.
Change the Media Type setting in
your printer driver to match the type
of media you have loaded.
Load media that matches the Media
Type setting you selected in the
printer driver.
Select Automatic as the Mode setting
in the printer driver.
