will open. Make sure that the "Echo typed characters locally" box is not checked. Click on
"OK" to accept these ASCII settings, then click "OK" again to accept the 'configuration file
name' properties. The Windows HyperTerminal program is now in terminal mode with a
direct connection to Com 1.
Beginning File Transfer from the PC
Using the Windows communications program pull down menu, select "Transfer", then "Send
Text File". The Send Text File Dialog Box will be displayed. Select "All File Types" and
navigate to the subdirectory that contains the Model Two software file to be downloaded.
Scroll to the file and highlight it. Press "Enter" on the PC's keyboard to begin download-
ing. During downloading, the Windows communication program screen will have a series of
asterisks "*" scrolling across it. Downloading will take approximately 6 minutes at 19200
baud or approximately 3 minutes at 57600 baud. When the Windows communications
program has finished downloading the file, it will display "DONE" on the PC screen. At the
same time, the Model Two will display "DOWNLOAD SUCCESSFUL" and then automatically
reboot to load the new software.
CAUTION: After installing new software in the Model Two it is essential to verify that
all Test Functions Menu settings are correct using the following procedure:
From the Operating Menu select (SETUP/PRESETS), and load the first factory preset, AD1X-
24. Then from the Operating Menu select (SETUP/MORE.../MORE... /TEST). Select the ADT
sub-menu and set ADL to MX. Select the DAT sub-menu and set DD to PO. Verify that
ALL other Test Functions Menu and sub-menu selections are set to NORMAL!
