3. An RS-232 null modem serial data communication cable, such as a Laplink cable
(the correct cable is included with the Model Two). The Model Two has a DB-9
male connector which is configured as a computer (DTE), not a modem.

Download Procedure

1) Set up the Windows communication program to send/receive at an appropriate
baud rate. Load the new Model Two software from the floppy onto the PC. For
information on setting up the Windows com program, see Appendix on page 73.
2) Connect the null modem cable between the PC's Com 1 serial data port and the
Model Two's DB-9 serial data port.
3) From the Model Two's Operating Menu, select (SETUP/MORE.../MORE...) to get
to page 3 of the Setup Menu. Initiate the system software download procedure
by selecting (DOWNLD). The following menu will appear:
4) Press the ENTER key to begin the download procedure. The message "DETECTED
REQUEST TO DOWNLOAD NEW HDCD PROGRAM" will momentarily be displayed,
and the following menu will appear:
SELECT BAUD RATE
REMAINING COMM PORT SETTING AVAILABLE
PARITY: DON'T CARE
DATA BITS: 7 or 8
STOP BITS: 1

5) Press function key #5 (CANCEL) to abort the download process or function key 1,
2, 3 or 4 to select the data transfer baud rate corresponding to the baud rate
selected on the PC. The following menu will appear:
1. Connect to PC with nullmodem cable
2. Type on PC to check connection echo
3. Type uppercase GO to continue
or Press CANCEL to restart system
