C.2.5.2 LOC
1. Tune NAV1 to a suitable ILS frequency (Frequency: 108.100 MHz, RF Level: -60 dB, SDM:
40%), and ensure that the aircraft heading is within 90 degrees of the simulated ILS approach
course.
2. Set the Marconi unit to the same frequency tuned on the G900X, and connect the RF output to the
NAV antenna input on the #1 GIA. Ensure that the Marconi is set to output LOC frequency.
3. Match the CRS phisointer to the lubber line on the HSI.
4. With the Marconi modulation enabled and carrier on, set the PFD CDI to LOC1. Verify that a
deviation bar is present, and the appropriate movement is seen as the CRS knob is rotated.
5. Set the DDM on the Marconi to 0.155 (FLY RIGHT). Verify that deviation bar on the PFD CDI
displays two dots to the right of the pointer.
6. Switch the indication to FLY LEFT, and ensure that the deviation bar on the PFD CDI displays
two dots to the left of the pointer.
7. Set the DDM on the Marconi to 0.0775 (FLY RIGHT). Verify that deviation bar on the PFD CDI
displays one dot to the right of the pointer.
8. Switch the indication to FLY LEFT, and ensure that the deviation bar on the PFD CDI displays
one dot to the left of the pointer.
9. Change the NAV1 frequency 0.05 up and 0.05 down from the previously set value and ensure
that the deviation bar drops off the display.
10. Repeat for NAV2.
C.2.5.3 G/S
1. Tune NAV1 to a suitable ILS frequency (Frequency: 108.100 MHz), and ensure that the aircraft
heading is within 90 degrees of the simulated ILS approach course.
2. Set the signal generator to output a GS frequency by selecting the LOC/GS Freq. softkey. The
frequency displayed will change to 334.7 MHz.
3. Set the Marconi unit to the same frequency tuned on the G900X, and connect the RF output to the
G/S antenna input on the #1 GIA. Ensure that the Marconi is set to output G/S frequency.
4. With the Marconi modulation enabled and carrier on, set the PFD CDI to LOC1. Verify that the
G/S strip is displayed to the left of the altitude tape.
5. Set the DDM on the Marconi to 0.175 (FLY UP). Verify that the diamond on the G/S tape is
displayed at two dots above the centerline.
6. Switch the indication to FLY DOWN, and ensure that the diamond on the G/S tape displays two
dots below the centerline.
7. Set the DDM on the Marconi to 0.0875 (FLY UP). Verify that the diamond on the G/S tape is
displayed at one dot above the centerline.
8. Switch the indication to FLY DOWN, and ensure that the diamond on the G/S tape displays one
dot below the centerline.
9. Change the NAV1 frequency 0.05 up and 0.05 down from the previously set value and ensure
that the G/S tape drops off the display.
10. Repeat for NAV2.
