B.3.4.2.1 Universal Mount Installation
The Legacy installation utilizes the Universal AHRS Mount system provided by Garmin
(GPN: 011-01780-00). Installation of the brackets is similar to that used for the Lancair ES. The
hardware size, type, and installation are the same. Figure B-74 shows a detail view of the GRS 77 AHRS
unit installed on the Universal AHRS Mount.

The primary difference between the Lancair ES and Legacy universal mount installations is the angle of
the AHRS universal mount. The Lancair ES AHRS is installed in an area where the attachment surface is
parallel with aircraft level. In the Lancair Legacy, the attachment surface (near the aft section of the
baggage area) is at approximately 6 degrees. The 115-00909-00 angle provided in the 011-01780-00 kit
allows for assembly angles of 0, 2, 4, or 6 degrees (see Figure B-75). The actual installation angle should
be verified prior to final assembly of the Universal AHRS Mount, and the installation should use the most
appropriate angle selection on the Universal AHRS Mount.
