Using videomute
When you turn video mute ON, any blank section
of tape, or any
station
with a weak signal,
will be replaced
by a blue screen.
The
sound will also be turned
off. If there is a time when you would
like to try to tune in a weak station,
turn video mute OFF.
Before you begin, you should know how:
• to view the picture
coming from your VCR; (see page 25)
• to use the menus. (See page 31.)

Press the MENU
button
on the remote
con Lrol. The "VCR
Main Menu" appears
on yo ar TV.
Use the ADJUST
dial on the remote
to move the cursor
next
to "First Time Set-Up."
Turn the shuttle
ring right.

The "First Time Set-Up"
menu appears
on your screen.
Use
the ADJUST
dial to move the cursor
next 1:o"Customize
choices" and turn the shuttle
ring right;.

Use the ADJUST
dial to select '%ideo mute." Then, turn
the
shuttle
ring to set video mute to ON or OF P.

Press the MENU button
once to return
to the "First Time Set-
Up" menu; press the MENU button
a second time to return
to
the '_VCR Main Menu;" press the MENU
batten
a third time
to turn off the menus.
Adding and deletingchannels
If necessary,
you can manually
add or delete
channels
after you
have completed
the automatic
channel
pro_'amming.
(You cannot
do this for channels
coming from a satellite
receiver.)
Beforeyoubegin,youshouldknowhow:
• to view the picture
coming from your VCR; (see page 25)
• to use the menus.

Make sure that video mute is ON. (See above.)
Press the MENU button
on the remote
cot trol. The "VCR
Main Menu" appears
on ycur TV.

Turn the ADJUST
dial on the remote

to move the
cursor next to "First Time Set-Up."
Turn the shuttle
ring
right.

You will see the "First
Time Set-Up"
menu. Turn the
ADJUST
dial to move the cursor
next to "Add/delete
channels."
Turn the shuttle
ring right.
If you are recording
or playing
back a tape, or if you are watching
a channel
from a satellite
receiver,
then the w_rds "Not available"
will flash and you will see an error message.
