Press the shutter-release
button
halfway.
The camera will automatically select the focus point cor]taining the
main subject closest to the camera and focus or] this subject.
When tile focus operation is complete, a beep will sound, and the in-
focus indicator (0) will appear in the viewfinder. The selected focus
point will be highlighted in red in the viewfinder.
If tile in-focus indicator (0) in tile viewfinder display blinks, tile
subject is not in focus. Recompose the shot and presstile shutter-
releasebutton halfway to try focusing again.
When shooting tile subject with which autofocus does not perform
well ([] 38), the camera may be unable to focus on the subject using
autofocus. The number of exposures that carl be recorded in tile memory buffer ([] 55) is
shown in the viewfinder display while tile shutter-release button is pressed halfway. "r" is
displayed in front of tile number.
If tile subject is dark, tile AF-assistilluminator may light to assisttile

focus operation and the flash may pop up.

Smoothly
press the shutter-release

way down to release the shutter
and record the
photograph.

The memory card access lamp will light.
Do not open the memory
card slot cover or battery-chamber
cover,
or remove or disconnect
the power source until the memory
card
access lamp has gone out and recording
is complete.
Photographs will be played back in tile monitor for a few seconds
after they are taken.
Presstile shutter-release button halfway to immediately enable
shooting, even when playing photographs back.
Rotate the power switch to turn the camera off when you have
finished taking pictures.
